Jeanette K StumpfJeanette K. "Jeanne" Stumpf, 89, formally of Three Mile Bay and Dexter, NY passed away Friday morning, March 31, 2017, at her daughter Vicki’s home, in Brewer, ME, surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne was born on November 10, 1927, in Syracuse, NY, daughter of David R. and Mary D. LaClair Sexsmith. She was a 1946 graduate of Watertown High School. On November 20, 1948 she married Lawrence C. Stumpf at All Saints Church, Chaumont with Rev. Edward Burns officiating. Mr. Stumpf, a self-employed contractor for 26 years, died November 14, 2013.

She found great joy in raising her four children in Three Mile Bay, where she was also a substitute clerk in the local post office for twelve years. She was a member of the Three Mile Bay Fireman’s Auxillary, PTA, and a member of the All Saints Church Altar and Rosary Society. She and her husband, Larry, moved to Dexter, where she was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, in Brownville. Jeanne enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, flowers, gardening, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and dedicated many afternoons watching the Young and the Restless and Hallmark Movies.

After the death of Larry, her two daughters, Debbie and Vicki, cared for Jeanne year round, between New York and Maine. While in New York, she enjoyed Adirondack camping trips, watching her great grandsons, Kaleb and Drew, play baseball games, and her Tuesday luncheons with her close friends. While in Maine, she enjoyed spa days with her daughter Vicki and manicures with her granddaughter Danielle, celebrating winter holidays, including baking christmas cookies, participating in ugly sweater parties, even drinking green beer on St. Paddy’s Day, as well as watching her favorite television shows by the fire.

She is survived by her four children, Deborah (Michael) Simser, Chaumont, NY, Philip (Lynda), Glen Allen, VA, Vicki Brady, Brewer, ME, and Randy (Debra), Baldwinsville, NY; seven grandchildren, Todd Simser, Stephanie (Kyle) Peters, Shaun (Sheila) Steiner, Christopher Steiner, Nicolette (Josh) Bateson, Danielle (fiancé Kyle) Brady, Christopher (companion Daniella) Brady; great grandchildren, Kaleb and Drew Peters, and Angel and Alexis Steiner. Her son in law, Bryan F. Brady, died April 5, 1994.

The family would like to give sincere thanks and gratitude to each and every one of her special caregivers. We are all grateful for her unconditional love and kindness, and how she will continue to live through us each day.
