Carol E. Stiles, 69, State St., Watertown passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse.

Carol was born in Watertown on July 3, 1947, daughter of Willis S and Dorothy K. Sterling Hogaboom. She was a 1965 graduate of Watertown High School and a marriage to John J. Stiles, Sr. ended in divorce.

She worked for over twenty years for Jefferson Rehabilitation Center as a resident caretaker. After her retirement she worked for Seniors Helping Seniors. She enjoyed cross stitch, movies, and especially family outings.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Sandra A. Moore, Watertown; son, John J. Stiles Jr. and his fiancée, Dawn Snyder, Carthage; grandson and his wife, Craig A. and Caitlin Moore, Yalaha, FL; two sisters, her twin, Nancy Hogaboom Hart and husband, Karle, Boonville and Sandy Hogaboom Rosevear, Denham Springs, LA; brother and his wife, Frank and Sheryl Hogaboom, Franklin, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her brother, Harold Hogaboom, and her sister, Mary Hyneman, died before her.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 21, from 2 - 4PM and 6 - 8PM at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. There will be no funeral services.

So sorry to hear about your mom. We spent a lot of time together at camp at Humphreys their camp was behind my mom and dads. She was l good friends with my mom. RIP CAROL

Carol was such a nice lady. She watched over and cared for a few of my residents at Centennial Apartments. Always enjoyed chatting with her. Loved her spunk. Will always remember her with much fondness.

Sandy, I met you at SMC and knew your mom from JRC. I was very fond of her! I had hoped I would see her again and never dreamed that my last words to her were,"see you later, we should have coffee!" I'm so sorry for your loss, she was a wonderful person! I'm glad to have known and worked with her!

I really thought you were going to beat this. Alas, there was too much interference. We were close enough in age we grew up more like cousins, rather than aunt and nephew. I'll miss you and see you again. My sympathies to Sandy, JJ, and siblings.
