Diana L. Shanley

Diana L. Shanley, 61, S. State St., Lowville passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, at Lewis County General Hospital. A calling hour will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Tuesday, February 16, from 5:30 - 6:30PM followed by a funeral service at 7PM with Donna Fitchette presiding.

Diana was born in Alexandria Bay on February 14, 1954, daughter of Leon S. "Chuck" and Virginia R. Dunaway Youngs and she attended Clayton school. Marriages to Robert Neary, C. J. Hatch, and James Elliott ended in divorces. She then married Troy Shanley and he predeceased her. She had worked as a home health aide in the Watertown and Clayton areas. Diana was Baptist and enjoyed stock car racing, crafting, fishing and gardening.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy M. Jeffries, Alexandria Bay and Tammy L. Potter, NC; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Charles Leon and Cindy Youngs, Clayton; two sisters, Charlene M. and Mark Meeks, Clayton and Cheryl A. Murray and companion, Randy Bourcy, Clayton; her dog, Ginger; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Linda L. Kilgore and a niece.

I'm so sorry Sandy & Tammy. I certainly know your pain. It seems like our family is getting smaller. We are fighters and will get thru this, I wish I could be there but know in spirit and heart I am. R.I.P Aunt Diana

All of us here at The Bateman, where Diana lived for the past year and a half offer our deepest condolences to Sandy, Tammy, Cheryl, Charlene and all of Diana's family. We are all deeply saddened by her passing. She was an integral part of our "family" here. We cared deeply for her and will miss her dearly.
