Joan D. MorgiaJoan D. Morgia, 86, of Mechanic Street, died Thursday morning, November 26, 2015 at the Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Calling hours will be held on Monday November 30, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Cummings Funeral Service, Inc. A prayer service will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral home with Msgr. Robert Aucoin, pastor of St. Patrick's Church officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Joan was born April 6, 1929 in Watertown, the daughter of Arthur J. and Gertrude Devine Harris. She graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy and a marriage to Robert L. Morgia ended in divorce. She was employed at Enrico's Restaurant on Public Square, Watertown as a waitress and cook for many years. Joan then was a bartender at the Brownville American Legion for a number of years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and an avid reader.

Joan is survived by her 6 children, Robert A. and Mary Morgia, of Easton, PA.; Thomas M. Morgia, of Dexter; Gayle A. and Kenneth Morton, of Payson Az.; Karen M. Burgenstock and her companion Steve Smades, of Watertown; Scott A. and Suzanne Morgia, of Dexter; and Jo-Ann Morgia, of Dexter; her 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; her brother A.J. and Sharon Harris, Jr., of Chaumont and Tampa Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

My condolences to Joan's family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with all of you and help you through this very emotional and hard path in life. I only got to meet Joan once. I knew she was a special woman when I met her. May she R.I.P.......... ..I am there for you Scott and Suzanne, spiritually. Love you both.
