Sheridan T. Busby

Sheridan T. Busby, 91, Depauville passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at Samaritan Summit Village surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral service will be held at the Depauville United Methodist Church on Monday, September 28, at 1PM with Rev. Earl LaLone and Donna Fitchette co-presiding and burial will follow in Depauville Cemetery with military honors. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton.

Mr. Busby was born in Millens Bay on June 15, 1924, son of William and Mamie Bordell Busby. He attended Millens Bay and Cape Vincent schools. He served in the US Army from 1943 until his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 1946. He received the American Service, European African Middle Eastern Service, Good conduct, and World War II Victory Medals and the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

On October 22, 1950 he married Katherine M. Williams at the Chaumont Presbyterian Church with Rev. W. H. Seifert officiating.

Sheridan worked as a beater engineer at Brownville Paper Co., Brownville until his retirement in 1989. He was an avid Nascar and stock car fan, attending many races. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Along with his wife, Katherine, Sheridan is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Kathy A. and Stephen Kulakoski, Port Orange, FL and Karen L. and Robert Gracey, Calcium; two grandchildren, Eric Hamilton and Tara and Jeff Sharp, all of Chandler, AZ; three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His three brothers, Howard, Grant, and Donald, and his sister, Doris Reese, died before him.
