Sallie L. Webster

January 28, 2015

Sallie A. Webster, 88, Centennial Apts., Watertown passed away January 28, 2015.

A Funeral Service will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Saturday, February 7, at 3PM with Rev. Steven Murray, pastor of Holy Family Church, presiding. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery.

Sallie was born in Watertown on December 24, 1926, daughter of Archie and Ruth O'Reilly Laverty. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and attended St. Lawrence University Extension. A marriage to William Webster ended in divorce.

She was a teller at Watertown Savings Bank, then worked in the office of Dickerson, Zewernski, & Warneck. She retired as office manager and accountant for Drs. Perciaccante & Lustick in 1997 after fifteen years working for the doctors.

As a young child, she loved to fly with her father, Archie Laverty. He was one of the first pilots in the area and the Watertown Airport was named in his honor after his death in 1935. In her earlier years, she enjoyed boating and skiing and was an avid walker and swimmer. Most recently, she loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and spend time with her grandchildren. Sallie was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of its Legion of Mary.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara Webster Hughes and her husband, David, Frederiksted, Virgin Islands; three grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, and Devin Hughes; brother, Archie Laverty and his wife, Roseanne, Watertown; and two nieces and one nephew.

I knew her as "Sal" when I was just a little boy. She was a wonderful woman with a great big heart, and she always met my smile with her own. A terrible loss, but a wonderful life! Those of us who were lucky enough to have met her were all richer for the experience!

I am so sorry to hear about Sallie. I worked with her
at Child & Adolescent Heath (AKA) Dr Perciaccante's
office. She was very thoughtful person and I was privileged to have known her. She always spoke so
highly of your family who she loved very much.
