Helen G. Osier, 101, formerly of Boyd St., Watertown passed away at Samaritan Summit Village on Monday, June 9, 2014.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Thursday, June 12, from 4 - 7PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Friday, June 13, at 11:15AM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church at 12PM (Noon) with Rev. Steven Murray officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in North Watertown Cemetery.

Mrs. Osier was born in Dexter on December 12, 1912, daughter of Frank and Anna Suchadowlski Keruski. She graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1930 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1933.

On March 11, 1933 she married Charles B. Osier at St. Patrick's Church. Mr. Osier, a coremaker at NY Airbrake, died July 10, 1992.

Helen was a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital and retired in 1976 as an assistant nursing supervisor after 26 years of service to the hospital. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was a member of the Mercy Hospital Alumni Assoc. and AARP.

She volunteered at the Red Cross blood clinics, blood pressure clinics, Mercy Center of NNY, and in the Pediatric Heart Clinic at Mercy. Helen enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, and crafts. Her picture was in the Watertown Daily Times three times, showing her working in her garden that she loved so well.

She is survived by her three children, Robert G. Osier and his companion, Joan McClusky and Mary Lu Brotherton, all of Watertown, and Gary C. Osier and wife, Pamela, Damascus, MD; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; and two nieces and two nephews. Besides her husband, Charles, she was predeceased by her grandson, Timothy, three brothers, Frank, Sylvester, and Stanislaus, and her two sisters, Mary Jeffs and Rose, who died in infancy.
