Barbara M. Cook

Barbara M. Cook, 70, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at her home on Flower Ave. E., Watertown surrounded by her loving family.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown on Monday, June 2, from 4 - 7PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 3, at 10:15AM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church at 11AM with Rev. Steven Murray officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Barbara was born January 11, 1944 in Watertown, daughter of Augustine and Anna L. Tarzia Capone and she graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy.

On May 2, 1964 she married Garvin F. "Fred" Cook at St. Anthony's Church.

She was a sales associate for K-Mart and retired as department head with over twenty years with the company.

Mrs. Cook was a communicant of Holy Family Church and volunteered at the Precious Blood Monastery. She enjoyed her many summers at her Sherwins Bay cottage and morning coffee with her brothers, Augie and Chuck. Her family and grandchildren were very precious to her. Barb enjoyed a good celebration with her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Besides her husband, Fred, she is survived by her four children, Vincent F. Cook and wife, Terri, Marcellus, James M. Cook, Lake Mary, FL, Anna L. Doldo and husband, Mike, Watertown, and Renee E. Thomas and husband, Jeff, Medina, OH; her five grandchildren, Danielle Shockley, Billy and Andrew Cook, and Tyler and Matt Thomas; her great-grandchild, Tyler Cook; her two brothers, Augustine Capone, Watertown and Charles Capone and wife, Linda, Evans Mills; her two sisters, Joanne Ossola and husband, Lou, and Rosalie Prevost and husband, Fran, all of Watertown; sister-in-law, Theresa Bocciolatt Capone, Watertown; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Her brother, Marion A. "Bobby" Capone died October 24, 2005 and her sister-in-law, Angie Capone in 1992.
