Bernard W. Davis

Bernard W. Davis, 83, Maple St. , Brownville, died Saturday evening, December 21, 2013, at his home under his family's care.

A service will be held at the family's convenience in the spring at Bethany United Methodist Church, Watertown followed by burial in North Watertown Cemetery. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.

Mr. Davis was born in Watertown on December 31, 1929, son of Leonard A. and Celia F. Montondo Davis, and he graduated from Watertown High School. He served in the US Army from 1951 - 1952.

On January 14, 1967 he married Lois E. Hopseker at First Free Methodist Church, Watertown with Rev. Ronald Pratt officiating.

Bernard was a certified examiner for Jefferson Rehabilitation Center, Watertown, retiring in August 1995. He had also worked part time for Kinney Drugs. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, and American Legion Post 588 and Fire Department, both in Brownville. He enjoyed gardening and his bird feeders.

Besides his wife, Lois, he is survived by his five children, W. Richard and Betty Waite, Lithia Springs, GA, Clarence W. and Alice Waite, Natural Bridge, Kathie T. and Patrick Connor, Brownville, Steven B. King and Connie Kelley, Salt Lake City, UT, and Karen E. and James Markert, Watertown; 14 grandchildren 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His brother, Richard D. Davis, and his sister, Olive M. Daye, died before him.
