Frances Marie LaClairFrances Marie LaClair, 65, passed away at her home in Clayton on Monday, December 25, 2023, under the care of her loving family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Fran was born in White Plains, NY, on May 17, 1958, the daughter of Angelo V. and Faith Moreen Skeans Perruccio. She attended Highland Jr. High School in White Plains, the family then moved to Clayton, and she attended Thousand Islands High School. On May 7, 1977, she married Henry R. LaClair Jr. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clayton, with Rev. Herbert Hannan officiating. She was predeceased by her sister Amy.

Fran was a waitress and cook at Joseph and Frances Perruccio’s Harbor Inn Diner from 1976 to 2001. She was then a store clerk for Todd and Lyn Cerow at the Thousand Islands Bait Store, Alexandria Bay from 2001 to 2020.

First and foremost, her heart belonged to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Fran was a former member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Women's International Bowling Congress, and a member of the 200 and 600 Clubs. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, traveling, cruises, soap operas, cooking, craft making, and hosting family events at her home.

Fran thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to her annual trip to Water Safari and Campground at Old Forge, NY. This past summer marked a milestone of 45 consecutive years.

Fran is survived by her husband, Henry; parents, Angelo and Maryann Perruccio, Boynton Beach, FL; three children, Michael J. Perruccio and wife Blair, Redwood, Henry R. LaClair III and companion Hannah, Carthage, and Mandi L. Calhoun and husband Joshua, LaFargeville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Nicholas Perruccio and wife Jodi, Clayton, Terri Stubblefield and husband Jeff, Boynton Beach, FL, and Angela Thomas and husband Stephen, Clayton; two aunts, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Fran’s life will be held in the spring of 2024, at a time and date to be announced. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery will be at her family's convenience. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton and online condolences to her family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.

We are devastated at the news of Fran’s passing. She was so dedicated to her passions in life. Her straight forward honesty was a blessing. Fran brought so much life, love and character to our community.
