I was sincerely saddened to hear of Sue's passing. I'm sure she will be dearly missed by her family. I will always remember her as a fine lady and devoted to her students .I appreciated her remembering me when it came time to sell her lovely, comfortable home. It was so easy to see the love and care she had for it. My prayers and hugs to you all.

My first position after graduation from college consisted of teaching physical education at Sherman and Meade elementary schools and coaching at Watertown High School. It was my good fortune to join a cadre of individuals who mentored me from 1975-1978 and inspired me in the profession that I would practice for the next forty one years. Sue was a huge part of my growth as a teacher, a coach and an individual - I’ll always remember how classy and professional she was, and how she supported her students/athlet es as well as her fellow staff. My sincerest condolences to her family.

Sue Beattie was my field hockey, volleyball, and softball coach from 1976-1979. She was an outstanding coach - kind, funny, determined, knowledgable, and pushed us to realize our own potential as individuals and as a team.
I believe our 1978 varsity field hockey team was the 1st to bring home the Section III Banner.

As great a coach and teacher as she was, she was much more than that to me. She was one of the biggest positive influences in my life during that time, giving me lessons that I continue to use throughout my life. The way she was with her athletes, was the way I strived to be with mine when I later became a phys ed teacher and coach. She was a role model, caring ear, mentor, and friend.

My condolences to her family and friends, and the many students and athletes like me whose lives were forever changed by presence and support.

Condolences to her family.
She was kind, funny, and patient with us on the field hockey team. She taught us to be fierce on the field; kind off the field. She was our mentor, my mentor. She was a great person and will be missed.

So sorry to read of Sue’s passing. I enjoyed working with her both at Case and Indian River H.S. And then there were our talks on how to make Syracuse football the winning team we both thought it should be! Carla Haas, retired BOCES social worker

This is sad news indeed and condolences to her family.
As a young field hockey coach, she had such a great influence on my life. The world has lost some beautiful energy.
