Joseph S. Iacovacci

Joseph S. Iacovacci, 94, of Watertown passed away Monday morning, November 27, 2023, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Joe was born in Brooklyn February 9, 1929, son of Joseph S. and Christina (Spina) Iacovacci. He graduated from New Utrecht High School, Brooklyn and received his bachelor's degree in Business and Accounting from New York University. He served actively in the US Army from December 1950 to November 1952, spending time in Korea and then as a reservist. 

On September 4, 1954 he married Naomi Y. Alvarado at the Third Baptist Church, Bronx and she died March 15, 2020.

After his marriage the couple moved to New Jersey where Joe worked for J. C. Penney in New York from 1962 to 1984. They then moved to Pittsburgh, PA from 1984 to 1992, then to Lancaster, PA for ten years. Joe retired as an accountant and payroll manager for J. C. Penney in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2002 the couple moved to Watertown. He was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance. He developed games played with dice and was an avid reader. 

Joe is survived by his daughter Maryellen Blevins and husband Randall D., Watertown; son Paul J. Iacovacci and wife Jennifer, Plano, TX; five grandchildren; sister Marsha Graziano, Long Island; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His brother, Larry, died before him.

As per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown and online condolences to his family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's name may be made to the Chosen People Ministries, 241 East 51st St., NY, NY 10022-6502.

Maryellen and family, I am sorry for your loss. Your dad was such a friendly and charming person, and I am glad I had a chance to meet him.
