It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Amy G. Koehler, 61, Clayton on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Amy was born in Batavia on August 14, 1962, daughter of Paul A. Thiebeau, Jr. and Barbara J. MacKearnin Thiebeau. She was a graduate of Iroquois Central School, Elma, NY and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communication from Mt. Union College, Alliance, OH. A marriage to James Koehler ended in divorce.
She attended Concordia Lutheran Church and was a supporter of the Antique Boat Museum and the Antique Classic Boat Society. In her younger years Amy enjoyed horseback riding. She also enjoyed boating. All will remember her love of music, her pets, and all the tourquoise in the world.
Amy is survived by her two children, Chelsea M. Koehler and companion Victor Rodriguez, Moyock, NC and Nicholas J. Koehler, Cheektowaga, NY; grandson Santiago Rodriguez-Koehler Moyock, NC; mother Barbara J. "Mike" Thiebeau, Clayton, NY; two siblings, Lori Catanzarita, New Hartford, NY and Paul A. "Trey" Thiebeau III and companion Barbara Bologna, Old Forge, NY; nephew Joseph Catanzarita, Hartford, CT; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins who will hold her memory in their hearts. Her father died October 28, 2013.
A private funeral service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church at her family's convenience. Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton and online condolences to Amy's family may be posted at www.cummingsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to SPCA of Jefferson County, 25056 Water St. or Concordia Lutheran Church, 818 Arsenal St., both in Watertown, NY 13601.
